Canon 90D
Tamron 150-600 @ 300mm F 7.1 @ 1/800 ISO 4000 Spring and summer resident- migrates to the Amazon Basin of South America for the winter. This individual was down lower in the forest, feeding on berries, although usually they are up high in the forest canopy. To see the red iris, the light has to be stronger than what it was when the image was taken; immature birds have a brown iris that turns red upon maturity. Certainly an interesting species, considering the great distance they travel during Spring and Fall migration, and I was fortunate on that day to have an opportunity to photograph one. Province of Ontario, Canada, image-September 2021. Thanks to everyone for viewing Click on for best image. |
