Not one for the purists expecting fine feather detail, but a different view from underwater of a Silver Gull (Chroicocephalus novaehollandiae) grabbing some of my lunch.

Surprisingly identifiable with the red bill, legs and eye ring.

ISO400, 24mm, f10, 1/200, 2x strobes, by Canon.

gregc, Very interesting image. Did you photograph it from above the water, or was the camera below the water level?

I love it! Definitely recognizable. This has a very painterly, almost abstract quality to it that is quite attractive. And certainly a view of a gull that most of us don't see!

Gene, this was underwater. The camera is in a housing, I use an Ikelite housing with an 8" dome port. Wide angle lens as things need to be very close given the turbidity of the water, and this year the water hasn't been very clear due to incessant sting winds. Greg

Cool idea and great POV and effect. I also like the colors and composition.
