Spring and summer resident- long distant migrant to Central America for the winter.

Despite being named in 1851, after a major American city, the
Philadelphia Vireo is almost exclusively, a Canadian breeding species, over much of the central and northern regions.
It is considered uncommon in the Province of Ontario, and this
is the first one that I have seen here, ( Ontario ).
They don't breed as far south in Ontario where I took this photo,
so he, ( or she ), was passing through on the way to the tropics.

Always nice to see a new species.

I love the inquisitive look of the bird. It is almost as if he is smiling. Good details in the bird also.

Paul, I've only seen the Philadelphia Vireo a couple of times. They are impressive.

I would see it at Point Peele during migration but hardly ever anywhere else. Great find and excellent image.

you nailed the shot well and the added habitat is a plus in my book, it always looks natural in the wild, nice one PAUL.

Really like the pose you captured, and such a treat to have any vireo so open.

An elusive bird that's tough to find and photograph well. Great looking image of the vireo in a great pose and natural environment.
