Great-tailed Grackle female
Gilbert, Arizona Nikon D500, 500mm f/5.6 PF, 1/2000, f/7.1, ISO800 Not my favorite bird nor one I photograph very often. (noisy, obnoxious, and not colorful!) Nesting females took advantage of an easy supply of tiny mosquito fish to feed their nestlings for a few weeks this summer. They were remarkably successful fisher-birds, coming up with one on nearly every attempt. Cindy Marple
