So clean and subject stands out so beautifully, Karl!
Some cloning residual left in the bg ... just above the head and right!

Nice eye contact, detail, bg, and subject placement, Karl. Of all 3 US Kingfishers, this is by far the easiest to find, but for me, the hardest to get a decent shot of. Ll

An excellent image, Karl, of certainly a somewhat elusive species to photograph, but you have done just that, very well. Wonderful detail
captured by your Sony equipment.

Great find, it's been a while that I have seen a cooperative Kingfisher.

Terrific looking image of this female Kingfisher. I'm not sure if it was a rare cooperative one, or if you used some stealth to get this close but either way it's a nice looking image of an often unapproachable bird.

Thanks, Warren. I just noticed that a lady was sitting on the ground where was no activity but at one point she picked up her lens and was aiming towards up in the bush. I alerted my wife and we both had some good shooting before the Kingfisher flew away. Went back next day, spent almost three hours there at the lady's spot but there was no Kingfisher showing.
