One less crab on the beach thanks to this Beach Stone-curlew (Esacus magnirostris). He has a bill designed for deconstructing crabs.

Excellent capture of another of your native birds, Greg! Thanks to you, I have a much better idea of what species are found in your part of the world - and all such excellent images. Getting this beauty with the crab is really well done!

Great pose and moment captured, and not a good day for the deconstructed crab. :)

good one with the head slightly turned towards the camera and the crab adds to the capture of the curlew.

+1.  In addition, the eye contact is excellent. Beautiful overall image.

An excellent image, Greg, as the others have stated. Judging by the setting, I would have to say this curlew species was given a very appropriate
name.
