Thick-billed Euphonia, male
Colombia
Nikon D500, 500mm f/5.6 PF, 1/800, f/5.6, ISO1000

A common bird in the areas we visited, but small and active so challenging to get clean images.

I have to agree with Karl, and Peter, about your fine image, Cindy. Columbia, looks like a wonderful destination for photography!

Wonderful definitely, but also super-challenging, with generally low light and thick rainforest vegetation settings for fast moving little birds!  Lots of places set up well for birders with feeding stations, but not ideal for photography in many cases.  But, I'll be going again- someday.

Such a beautiful bird Cindy. Nailed the focus on what sounds a challenge to get a clean image on. Well done.

They may be common there, but I don't have seen many images of this species, thanks for sharing, Cindy! I really like the alert pose, and BG in this one.

Cindy, Excellent details and eye contact and the background compliments the Euphonia very well.
