Common tern dive-bombing 2nd year Herring gull.

Common terns snatch food from Least terns and Gulls go after common terns. Common terns are bringing their young ones to our local beach. They are bringing in fish to feed them. Gulls are always around to snatch fish from those juveniles. Common terns were not happy with this gull nearby and tried to make it clear.

Cool interaction between the species- no doubt they're trying to establish something here! I like the angle which gives you the solid background of the sea without a horizon line to distract from the subjects.

Rajandesai, Excellent timing on this shot. Do they just do flybys or will they "attack" the Gull?

Thanks Gene. The intention is to harass them so that they leave the area. They do come dangerously close though. That same morning I also saw them go after a cormorant in the water. I don't have a good picture of that interaction.
