Least terns are busy feeding their young ones these days. As the sun rises, most parents head out to the ocean to bring breakfast for the chicks. Common terns don't nest on the beach that I regularly visit but are seen resting and bathing sometimes. Even though the common terns are beautiful, they are also bullies and like to harras least terns. They attack, chase, and steal fish from the least terns returning from the ocean. The chattering noise they make as they chase the least tern is very distinctive. The chase can go on for few minutes till the least tern drops the fish giving an easy meal to the common tern. It is not very easy to follow this action; they fly like a bullet, quickly changing directions that can be dizzying. I got lucky with this shot with the early morning sky in the background. I am amazed how well Sony A1 tracks the subject.
