Golden-collared Manakin
Nikon D500, 500mm f/5.6PF, ISO1000, 1/320, f/5.6

Manakins are known for their displays on leks.  This species' display involves inflating the throat feathers.  The bare branch is his lek.

Best to view the large to enjoy most. Love that pose. Whilst its probably part of the display behaviour when it inflates its through feathers, the head tilt has quite a charm to it. Super shot Cindy.

I love to watch these little beauties doing their crazy mating dance, its more like the movement of a ball in a table tennis game! What a beautiful image, Cindy. The colours are gorgeous, detail exquisite, and the pose is adorable. What more could you want from a superb shot!
