Radjah Shelduck (Tadorna radjah), known locally as the Burdekin duck. This one was in a drainage channel, but made for a very dark background.

ISO500, 600mm, f7.1, 1/250, by Canon.

Cool effect, I like the contrast of the light plumage and wing tips disappearing in the BG.

Like the effect Greg. Cool looking duck and like the wings spread out as they are.

Quite unusual, almost monochrome effect, Greg!

I like the way the wings just sort of disappear into the dark. Intriguing picture.
