What a cutie! I like that the bit of light is falling on the chick, spotlighting it as well as giving a bit of life to the black feathers. I'd consider cropping a bit off the bottom, just below the dead sticks. That would eliminate the stem in the lower left corner.

Not very many images of a young gallinule taken, I believe, but you have a very good one, Karl, with an interesting habitat , as well.
