Nikon D850, Nikon 500mm F5.6 pf,
ISO 800, 1/800s, F 8.0, Kayak

Subsequent to having it's head under water searching for food this loon briefly lifted it's head before diving. The beading water on it's head reflect the waterproofing it's feathers provide.  I found it interesting that the water beaded in such an orderly pattern.

Striking viewpoint and head on view.  First thing I noticed was the beading on the head Warren.  (whilst reading your commentary :) ).  Large view shows that off really well.  Nice one!

nicely capture the water marks on his head and the head on shot is kool looking, nicely done on this one WARREN.

This is really interesting, great perspective to see how the water beads in such a pattern. I wonder if it's following feather tracts.
