Canon R5, 500f4, 1.4x, 1/3200s, f/6.3, ISO 800, manual

After using my Canon 1D Mark IV for 11 years, I thought it's time to get a new camera. I just received a Canon R5 and did a few tests with the settings to see what works best for BIF, not that it makes Barn Swallows fly less erratically. So far it seems that I'm going to have a lot of fun with the R5. :)

Glad you are enjoying the R5 Axel. Super shot. Good banking pose and use of space.

Pose and details look great. Background works very well with the darker green on the top.

Some of the most difficult avian subjects for sure! I love the topside view with the wings fully extended, to see all the detail of this bird.

Excellent image, Axel, of certainly one of the most difficult species to capture in-flight. From what I have heard, the R5 seems to be a very good
camera for birds in flight ( and stills ), with its' high frame rate, and auto focus capabilities.
