Wide-angle European Buzzard (similar to a Red-tailed Hawk). This was shot at 28mm using a remote release. The camera was a D810 with a fantastically soft shutter. It was placed about a metre/3ft. from where the perch was. As you can see, the left wing was nearly clipped! I was in a hide/blind about 3 metres/15ft. away, watching and triggering the camera.
Regards,

Des

Excellent work Des. Love the wing spread. I guess it's mantling whilst dining.

A beautifully detailed capture of this majestic bird and the raptor mantling behaviour, Des!

As someone who used remote extensively in the past I think this is excellent use for this type of shot. Using a wide angle lens gives this a different perspective and allows for an interesting look at the surroundings. Well done.
