This morning the adult had a brief showing, either the male or female. They look the same to me. It was light cover with sunny breaks but he/she was in the shade. The water is covered with Duckweed.

Lovely framing Karl with space on the left to look into. Nicely done.

Beautiful pose, setting and colour tone, Karl! I always think the male has a darker, almost black head and back, and the female is more brown, but not easy to tell from the front in soft light. Either way, I like this one a lot!

Lovely. Not an easy bird to get in the open. This one is amazing.
