This is the female Common Loon offering it's chick a small perch in an early morning feeding. For the several hours I spent with this loon family it appeared that feeding took place in short spurts of time. The "hand off" of the food between parent and chick happened very quickly when they were in close contact, so many of my initial attempted shots were near misses.

A lovely view of the classic feeding behaviour, Warren. Yes, the handover of each morsel can happen very quickly!

Another excellent image in your loon series. Perhaps you are going to take up kayaking in the future!

Paul..... Lol, I'm afraid my time in the kayak was a one and done episode. I had a good time, got some nice shots, and had a few laughs with my friend who was kind enough to make it happen. Now it's back to my usual subjects !!      Warren
