Lesser Kestrel adult male

Slightly smaller than the Common Kestrel this bird breeds from the Mediterranean and Central Asia  to China and Mongolia, wintering in Africa and India.

Nikon D500, Nikon 600mm F4 FL ED
1/1000, F4, ISO 200 
Spot metering, Auto WB, Full Manual

Great looking bird, strong pose. Eye is super sharp, it might have been good to have a tad more DoF to get the talons sharp also, just because a raptor.

Krish, A simple image that really shows off the Kestrel. Increased depth of field would also allow you to photograph at a bigger f/number, which would probably improve sharpness at least slightly.

Very impressive looking portrait of this Kestrel. Subtle light helps bring out the details nicely while still keeping a pleasing background.
