Photographed on Long Island, many small chicks are hidden in grassy areas and their parents often have to do some searching to locate them.

Superb image once again, Axel. The pose, prey in beak and setting are captured beautifully!

This is phenomenal, Axel. What's the prey item?

Thank you, Des! I'm not completely sure but think the prey is a mole crab.

Another very fine image Axel. Super habitat on show and a bonus with dinner for the chics. Looks like it's going into landing mode for feeding.
Make your life spectacular!

I like this one very much as the background is a perfect setting for this bird. Terrific exposure and pose. Worth clicking to see large.

Great details on the bird, and the background has the perfect amount of detail to provide context to the image.

Everything works beautifully here- the contrast with the grasses is especially effective.
