A Female Northern Cardinal and a Long-billed Thrasher photographed at the Laguna Seca Ranch in deep South Texas.  This photo is a bit untusual because typically Female Northern Cardinals are not very aggressive, especially towards larger birds.

Cynthia,  This was taken back in November.  No young were around then.  Maybe she was having a bad day because the Thrasher was minding its business when the Female Cardinal went into the attack mode?
