Jacobin Cuckoo aka Pied Crested Cuckoo

Jacobin Cuckoo aka Pied Crested Cuckoo are found in Africa and Asia. Partially migratory, they arrive in India, from Africa,  in June and are culturally known as harbingers of monsoon rains. In India, they breed and being brood parasites they lay or drop their eggs in Babbler nests, while one of the partners distracts the female babbler guarding it's nest. Job done, they scoot-off back to Africa
They feed on caterpillars and insects.

A fine portrait, Krish! It looks like this one has just enjoyed a caterpillar meal!

Striking close-up-I like the whole view too. Thanks for the story- it always adds something to have a little background on a bird's life.

+1.  I also like the whole view but sometimes it's good to see a portrait for a different point of view.  Very nice either way with this cuckoo.

A great " portrait " image, Krish, plus your inclusion of species information, is always appreciated.
