This time on different flowers that I don't know the name of.
This patch of flowers pose a challenge as the bird spends very little time in one spot. The light was also low, hence the super high ISO.

My favourite image from your hummingbird series, Karl. The hummingbird looks so good in every way : colours, detail, wing position, lighting; all
captured so well.

Brilliant shot, Karl. Fantastic detail and a bright eye. Can't help with the flowers, but they are a nice complement for the hummer.

Regarding the name of the flower, I’m certain it is a Penstemon, but can’t quite figure out exactly which variety.

Thanks, Joe. You know a lot of things and if you don't, you probably know how to look for it.

This definitely goes down as my favorite of your very nice series of Ruby throated Hummingbirds. The out of focus flowers and background, in addition to the wonderful position of the bird makes for a great overall image.
