AS THIS MALE WAS FLYING FROM ONE ISLAND TO THE NEXT ONE, MY TIMING WAS MADE PERFECT, BY SWITCHING TO A SMALLER LENS TO GET THIS FLIGHT SHOT IN FRONT OF ME JUST OFF THE BOARDWALK.

Very nice capture, Peter; not very many in-flight images of a Least Bittern taken, I'm sure!

As you mention, timing was perfect-great to see a flight shot.

Great timing on this guy. I saw one fly the other day and I had my camera in one hand and a bottled iced tea in the other and had.......no chance. Unless a person has previously seen this species, it's a surprise as to just how small it is. You did very well to get this one as well as you did. Well done.

Beautifully done, Peter! Quite rare to see a good capture of one in flight, and this is excellent!
