This is a male Blue-winged Warbler singing to establish it's territory. I was looking for the hybrid of this bird and the Golden-winged Warbler, called the Lawrence's Warbler so I went to a few places where they were hoping to find the hybrid. Due to being limited part of the Spring due to Lyme disease I didn't search as much as usual but I did end up with some Blue-winged Warbler shots of which this is one of them.

An excellent image, Warren; photographed singing,( always special ), and nicely framed by the flowers on the perch.
Perhaps next year for the Lawrence's Warbler.

Just wanted to say thank you for awarding this image an EP. I consider it quite an honor.  I am doing this, and previous series on Warblers because due to their small size, and fleeting time above the equator, even while looking their best during their short breeding season, they are often overlooked by the general public. Many bird photographers and birders in general know them well, but I feel that by showing them off in forums such as Naturescapes we can bring an awareness to them, and maybe show people the importance of maintaining their habitat for survival.

Really a beautiful image, very well composed and with such pleasant colors. I find it has a particular depth.
