While returning late from an afternoon safari in Manas NP, Assam, we were hoping to come across some sort of animal movement on the road which could give us the opportunity to capture the creature in the luminescence of our Jeep's headlights. Suddenly we heard several calls of nightjars all around us. On further introspection we found four to five of them sitting right in front of us on the dusty road. This particular fellow was brave enough to give us a sufficient amount of time to click at a distance of 10 feet, naturally with the Jeep's headlight acting as the spotlight.
