Tenessee Warbler (Part Four of Four)

This is the last of the series as the Tennessee Warbler extracted the caterpillar from the tight web in a quick motion and only hesitated long enough for me to get off one last shot....this one. The whole sequence from when it first saw its prey until this image probably didn't take much more than one second and it was over.

As I indicated in my first post of this series I had four target warblers that were most likely to occur in May and this was one of them, despite it being a rather bland looking bird. I was very fortunate to get this one as they pass through our area rather quickly on the way to Canada to be on their breeding territory. I wish I had captured this one with a slight head turn towards me but once he grabbed the caterpillar he disappeared into the deeper pines never to be seen (at least by me) again.
