After splashing around in a shallow stream this female Hooded Warbler hopped up on this small stump to preen and dry off.

This is a very nice shot of the female. I'm much more used to seeing the male during migration/early breeding season in the southern part of my state. Thanks for the description for why it is wet. Hope you had a chance to get other images during this sequence as well. Well done.

A wonderful image, Jim; great pose, perch, and background. ( Saw my first Hooded last spring, a female for only a second, here in Ontario; certainly
a very beautiful species).
