Nikon D850, Nikon 500mm F5.6
ISO 800, 1/500s, F5.6, Blind This is a "hunting" male Tennessee Warbler which was one of the four target warblers for me this year. I actually only got two out of the four species but I was satisfied overall. I have seen the Tennessee in the past but always on apple blossoms or high in pine trees as they migrated to Canada. In this first of a four shot sequence of him searching for food he was only a few feet off the ground. He was with a small mix of other warblers in the early AM on a cloudy day this May. In this image he began his search for food. As a side note, this was also the nicest individual I had ever encountered of this paricular warbler species. Please click for higher resolution. |
