Spring and summer resident only-
Winters to Northern South America.

Black and White Warblers have a longer bill
compared to other Warbler species, as they use this to
probe for insects in bark; although they feed conventionally
like other Warbler species, as well.

One of my favorite warblers which I’m privileged to see during migration. A nice shot of the male on the moss covered bark, Paul.

Even though the Black and White Warbler lacks color it is still one of our most beautiful warblers in my opinion. Getting him working the tree trunk for food is a very nice job getting him in his natural way of hunting for food.

Nice detail of the black and white plumage and markings, Paul. The moss covering on the tree bark adds more interest!

Like the lichens. Manic Black and White Warblers make me dizzy when I try to shoot them. Nicely done.
