This male Indigo Bunting was photographed last Spring in an area not far from my home.  They are just beginning to filter in as it appears to be a sporadic migration year here in the northeast as a result of changing weather conditions.

A gorgeous frame of the Bunting, Warren! Such a beautiful bird! My taste leans towards considering a crop on the right to remove some of the out-of-focus vegetation so as a result the Bunting would be looking through more of the frame. Just my two cents -- the image remains a beauty as is.

going more north east is the same problem this year with the migration but you nailed this one perfectly and the cropping is nicely done on this image, well done WARREN.

Beautiful contrast of the bright color of the subject against the green of the background.
From the perspective of the roost it seems to be suspended in nothingness.

Hi Ron,

I wanted to reply because I messed with the comp a bit.  The reason I left it this way is because if I favored it the traditional route by leaving more room to the side he is looking (towards the left of the frame) there would be a lot of dead space out there.  I chose to have some dead space but to (hopefully) balance it with the dense vegetation on the right . LOL, there's no accounting for taste !!  Thanks for your comment and your ongoing kind words regarding my posts !!    Warren

Love the colour of this beauty, and on first look it seems to be floating in mid air, Warren. A beautiful image,

Carol.

I really like this. The colors in the bird are amazing, and the background sets the bird off so nicely. The details are amazing also.
