Bit of a tongue in cheek image.  Nikon D800 and 1/40 at F8.  ISO 100.  (just wanted to see what the D800 could do at 100 iso.  ).  Processed today.

Hope all safe.

Very sweet framing and texture in the wood. The way the owl conforms to the opening makes it look like the owl is part of the tree.

Brilliant composition! I love how the rings in the wood grain frame the little owl. And the detail is top-notch! Well done, Dave!

A very unique and excellent image, David. The natural " frame", makes for a wonderful photo!

I'd say the camera did very well, and the photographer made it so! Wonderful shot, Dave- perfect framing in the hole in the tree. Owl is obviously posing just for you. ;)

Beautiful shot, the tree trunk looks fantastic so is the Little Owl, David.
You post pictures rarely, but all of them are gems of photography.

I also really like the composition.  I have a similar image of a screech owl taken many years ago on film that remains one of my favorites.  This image of yours brought back memories of that shot for me. I love how the concentric rings of your "perch" help to frame the owl. Very nicely seen !!

I agree with SantaFeJoe, and I add a graphic beauty.

Great composition, cute little owl. The rings in the wood add much interest.
