 ISO 640, 1/640s, F5.6 The Prothonotary Warbler is a rare species where I live, but not too far to the south and west they are fairly abundant. Their habitat is flooded woods and mangrove areas. When seen in the darker woods their rich yellow color is very striking. I believe they are the only Warbler in the eastern US that nests in tree cavities and in small bird houses provided in suitable habitat. Please click for darker background. |
