Yesterday we had the opportunity to photograph this eagle's nest. We were about 100 feet away on the shoulder of a road. The nest is slightly higher than eye level so we were able to find a window through the branches to get good shots of this male and his 2 eaglets.  Mom was out hunting while we were there.  7D2; 100-400 @ 400 F5.6; 1/2000; ISO 800. This image is the first in a series. Please click on image to see details.

Very nice image. The details you held in both the white and dark areas are top notch. The adult eagle almost looks like he is concentrating to hear what the eaglet is saying. Wonderful interaction.

Thanks so much.  The adult is actually teaching his eaglet how to pose when photographers with big lenses come by. :)

Impressive angle of view. Most eagle nests in my area are very high in the trees. It is refreshing to see one from this perspective. Well done!

A very nice " intimate photograph", Ed. Excellent detail captured on the birds.

Love the intimate pose- I wonder what the chick has to say to Dad. (Other than how to pose for photographers!) ;).
