This image is from the Kenai Peninsula of Alaska. It was made in overcast conditions so I recently attempted the monotone conversion.
Nikon DX, Nikkor 300 f/2.8, fill flash, hand held. Please click on image to view full size.

This looks great as B&W, it looks like it had a pretty intense stare on something!

The " black and white " conversion, worked out very well here, Ron, with all the feather details showing to a high degree.
Quite a dramatic in-flight pose captured, as well.

Your choice to go monochrome paid off Ron, beautiful contrast, tone and clarity!

Amazing shot, Ron. The B&W works great on this. I love the upward wing position with the talons hanging down. I also like how the crashing waves behind the bird are visible.

Fabulous image Ron. Love the way it appears to "hang" in the air. Brilliant conversion!

Super shot! The processing in black and white in my opinion fits perfectly I find enhances the power and grit of this magnificent subject.

Very nice image that has a unique look as a B&W. From the bird's position, to the wave braking in the background, this is a top notch image.

Looks great as B&W, makes you focus more on details and they are rich in those, Ron.

A must click for the full effect! You know I'm not normally a fan of b/w in nature, but it works perfectly for the majesty and dramatic appeal of this magnificent eagle, Ron! A very striking image and beautifully done.
