The drift wood in this image acts as a staging platform for our visiting songbirds.  This Red-Winged Blackbird just took off toward or feeder. I am told that the wing rotation captured in this image is unique. Clicking on images shows details best.

A very unique image overall, Ed ! We don't see too many in-flight photos of Red-winged Blackbirds, so yours is quite special.
Nice perch, background, and colours shown on the Blackbird.( The wing position is somewhat similar to that of a hummingbird,
in that it appears to be in a partial figure-eight position, when the photo was taken. ). Anyway, a great capture of the moment.

Very nice takeoff pose with wings high and beak open, Ed. The driftwood provides an attractive setting. Good job!

A nice action capture, Ed, and that old driftwood makes a great feature in any image!
