Great looking image of a tough to get BIF. It appears it may be lifting up towards a nest site, but I may be taking the shot out of context. Just a beautiful rendering of the Pileated, beautifully showing the white on the under wings. Wonderful image !

Superb flight capture of this pileated woodpecker, Bill! A click shows the exquisite detail from head to tail, with exposure and colours handled beautifully. Couldn't be sweeter!

This was not shot at a nest sight. I have been lucky to get some pileated woodpeckers coming to suet I put on the side of a tree.
