As the last light of the day faded away, these little guys hunkered down for the night. They were too far away for a close portrait, so I thought I would experiment with my composition.

Personally I really like this. It shows enough detail with the little one and he is surrounded by his protective environment. The softness all around him....

As others have said.......I really like the pattern with the end result the focus on the bird in an interesting composition.

Beautifully done, John! I also love it with the bottom 1/3 removed for more of a pano presentation. I think both work very well.
