These two Western grebes have fish in their mouth and this is part of their mating behavior. They typically share the fish with each other. Then they go through the typical rushing behavior. The fishing and the rushing behavior are not always connected from what I observed. They are fun to watch. It was raining on and off and quite dark when these were taken.
