ISO400, 1/500s, F5.6 The Brown Creeper is an interesting little bird as it searches for food by spiraling around the trunk of a tree from bottom to top and then flying down to the base of another tree. It's nest is also odd in that it usually nests on an old or dying tree by wedging it's nest between the trunk and bark that is starting to pull away from the trunk. Once the young hatch it comes in to feed at the nest by slithering in under the loose bark. Please click for a bit more resolution. |
