A Red-bellied Woodpecker pauses and looks toward the camera as it canvases a decaying tree trunk in Burlington, Ontario Canada. I wanted to try out a Nikon Z6 II and my trusty PF 500mm f5.6 E VR lens. This is one of the shots from that day last weekend, the camera performed pretty well. © Jeff Chevrier Photo

Beautiful pose and composition, Jeff. I like the background, a blend of high key with out-of-focus tree limbs. Well done!

An excellent photo, Jeff; the texture and patterns in the tree trunk adds so much overall to your image.

Looks like a winner for the Z6-very nice pose on that massive tree trunk.
