During this incredible winter finch irruption in my area of northeastern NY, I have had 12 pine grosbeaks in my crabapple trees along with hoary redpoll, common redpoll, and evening grosbeaks.

This was a recent freezing rain storm.

Impressive array of visitors! This one is especially nice-I like how the grosbeak almost seems to be camouflaged by the pattern of the crab apples. The icy branches really tell the story too. Excellent shot1

A lovely frame with the crabapples complementing the plumage colours beautifully, Jeff.

Good get Jeff. Nice to have the variety in your own backyard. The ice probably helped to keep the crab apple off of his beak which is a secondary plus to the nice look of the ice.

Great winter setting. Nice pose and detail on the grosbeak, Still working on adding one of these to the collection.
