This image was taken by my wife, Marienna.
I like her shot for the uniqueness of the background; ice and blue water and the diagonal position of the bird.
Originally three arrived to the Marina and they had some spectacular
aerial battle, documented by some lucky locals and she came out to be the winner.

Ditto to the reasons you stated you like your wife's image of the Snowy.  I'll add that the exposure and the focus are spot on. Obviously,  Marienna knows what she's doing with a camera !!  Wonderful image.

Brilliant capture of this flying beauty, Marienna!  The head on approach with the strong diagonal spread of the wings is complemented perfectly by the blue water and ice setting.  Beautifully done!  I love it.

Karl and Marienna, what a wonderful team you are!   :)

Your wife certainly, has the "magic touch", in regards to Snowy owl photography, and I am certain that she is
a fine bird photographer in general, as well! A wonderful image, Marienna!

Shooting very well composed, I really like the diagonal formed by the opening of the wings.
