This is a first spring male photographed on a bitter cold morning that produced steam that rose off the relatively warm water of a local river.

Terrific light that's softened beautifully by the steam. Very nice low level view and eye contact. Beautiful image.

Jim_B, Like how the forground is oof, the bird is in focus, and then the background fades oof. An excellent image.

Really nice shot- it looks very cold and steamy. Interesting to see the plumage at this time of year- a first year male, I assume.
