She gave us this peek a boo right after landing. My wife captured a fantastic series of flight images of this lovely Owl. My lens was too long (1260 mm in crop mode) to do well. This was my excuse. :)

If it were not for the backstory it would look like it was trying to be shy and hide from you. "Peek a boo" would have been a perfect title as you relate in your story. Very nice shot with perfect exposure and wonderful eye contact.

I think she is just warming up for a ballet! :). Fun shot with that "peek-a-boo" look. Too bad about the long lens.... LOL

A beautiful image, Karl. I think that you and your wife, must be the premier " Snowy Owl Photography Team" , of the season !
This photo, shows the upper wing markings of the owl, so well.

Thanks, Paul.
I have images of all the free flying "wild" Owls nesting in Ontario, but the largest collection has been the Snowy Owls, and she has similar collection.
This year was great for Owls, based on the pictures of fellow "Ontario Bird Photography" members.
However, I don't have any other than the Snowy from this year.
They don't post the location anymore in order to protect the Owls from over-aggressive, unethical photographers.

A really clean shot, a uniform background with very appreciable details, I really like the pose of the Snowy Owl.
