The feather on the bill, is from a pigeon
that the hawk was feeding on.
( The background is not too good,
but sometimes you just have to
 take the picture!)

Image taken in the Province of Ontario. (Canada).

Nice portrait of the hawk, Paul. Agree a more natural background would be nice.

When you have the opportunity, shoot first and ask questions later, lol. I like the feather in the beak as I think it tells the story of survival.

Sometimes, (most for me), the image content outweighs technical merit. Tells a good story, albeit, not for the Pigeon.

Paul, this is just stunning! The stare is overwhelmingly intense.

A real furtive look its giving you, almost like it feels you caught it doing something it shouldn't! - but life is the survival of the fittest.
