( Juvenile male, I believe ).
It is always somewhat of a gamble, as to how the
wings will turn out, when not using a multi-flash
setup; I think that less blurring would have improved
the image, perhaps.( Hand held, natural light, artificial background).

Photo taken in August - Mississauga, Province of Ontario. (Canada).

a very colorful image and well planned out, you need at less 2000 and up on the speed side, spring is just four months away.

Another very nice hummingbird shot, Paul. I like the pose at the blossom and the lovely color. Nicely done!

Excellent image. Makes us look forward to their return her in upstate NY. Frankly, I like a bit of blur in the wings. To my eye it adds a dimension action and time. I like the frozen wing shots as well, but once in a while it is nice to see images like this.

Ed makes a good point, I like to see the 'whirring' wings too.  A lovely view of this little beauty, Paul.

+1.  I agree with Ed on all of his comments, plus your background is very nice with this image.

Lovely shot- wing blur is what hummers are all about! I much prefer a natural look like this.

Excellent shot with really bright colors, I like the natural blur effect of the wings, it shows how fast they really move.
