This is the same Hawk Owl I posted several months ago on a different perch. This was taken several years ago in Vermont.  He was a very active bird as it was moving between perches actively hunting. I never actually saw him catch anything as the snow cover was fairly deep but he was very alert as he must have heard something under the snow.

I remember that owl! It caused traffic jams in Vermont! Very nice take. A dynamic pose, and those piercing eyes......

A must click to see how the light in this lovely capture brings out the colours and plumage detail so beautifully, Warren!

Cynthia, I was fortunate in that I had photographed NHO's in the past so I went up long after it was discovered and I went on a Wednesday.  There were only 3 other people when I was there. On the way home I stopped at the Ben and Jerry's headquarters and had ice cream along the way.  All in all, a good day !!   Warren

A very nice photo of a seldom observed and photographed owl species, Warren.
