I used the Sony lens and camera first time for these super fast flying
birds. Unfortunately the light was not quite enough for BIF and MR. Murphy joined me along the Pier and set my f stop higher and he never told me about it. :(

Sony a7R3
Sony 200-600
ISO 1600
f 8.0 (A use f6.3 even in bright light. MR. Murphy did it.)

Looks wonderful notwithstanding Mr. Murphy’s contribution. Seriously, a great perspective and excellent detail on this speedster, Karl. Great job!

How come I get lousy shots when I have so called bad settings. I wish I had a whole bunch of images as good as this one where my settings were supposedly wrong !! Great perspective and well tracked. Very nice image of a great looking Long Tailed Duck.

I was wondering why Alan Murphy messed with your settings, Karl.......   Seriously, its a beautiful shot of this gorgeous duck!  I always look forward to seeing them, and this flight capture is a beauty!
