Great Bittern | Eurasian Bittern Botaurus stellaris
Captured this morning with sun right behind me ...It came out literally from nowhere. The Great Bittern is a very secretive bird found in extensive reedbeds. Seen mainly as single birds in flight, especially early and late in the day. Stealthy and easily overlooked. Nikon D500 AF-S 500/4D ED + TC14E II KK Hui FRPS
