Swainson's Thrush
Catharus ustulatus Livingston Co, MI Before this week, chances on this species were few and far between. This is a woodland species that seems to prefer dawn and dusk. This one showed up 14 min before sunset, well after the sun was down behind a wall of trees. Fortunately, thrushes, unlike warblers and vireos, tend to "pose" long enough to get sharp shots. 5DIV 500 4.0 1/8, f/6.3, ISO 1600 Natural light Comments and suggestions always welcome.
